I’m William Hickie, an avid hiker and adventure photographer with a passion for capturing outdoor events. Unlike most photographers, I’m built for the trail—fit, experienced, and capable of keeping up on long-distance treks. From an 8-mile walk with Outdoor Lads along the Longstone Path in the Peak District, to a multi-day climb of Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak with The Brotherhood. I’ve documented epic journeys with groups who push their limits. My next adventure? A half-marathon walk with CCLG charity, capturing their inspiring event.

Why I do it
I’m an adventurer at heart, thriving on the challenge of rugged trails and the stories they hold. I love building connections through hard work, sweat, smiles, and triumphs of groups pushing their limits. My fitness and trekking experience let me move with you, integrating into the group on a personal level to document authentic moments without missing a step. It’s about telling your story, one frame at a time.
Being out in nature with my camera is how people would describe being at home. This is where I feel comfortable and safe. It’s my playground, it’s where I’m happiest and where my work thrives. I love the unpredictability, fast thinking and being on my feet. I’m incredibly passionate about what I do, I just live and breathe it, there’s no other way to describe it.
