Hasselblad - Outstanding Work Award 🏆

The Hasselblad Masters competition is one of the most prestigious photography competitions in the world. Alongside this, they allowed the contestants to enter their work through social media to help share the word.

I am very excited to announce that I was placed in the TOP 3 (there was no overall winner) and recieved the Outstanding Work Award! I recently got my prize in the post which is the Vandra Backpack, I haven’t yet used it but I am looking forward to customising it for my next adventure. Now I await the results from the major competition, hoping to get my hands on the new X2D and a prize fund which will allow me to travel and capture new stories. I have some ideas of where and what I want to photograph but i’m not saying just yet…

Here is my submission which won the Outstanding work award:

HOPE

This series was taken on a trip to the Isle of Skye in early winter which represents the journey of many landscape photographers, when chasing the 'best light'. The hardship of battling tough conditions, the unpredictability, things not going to plan, but most importantly, faith. Patience and hope is what prevails in those difficult times and often leads to the most compelling stories.

It's not always about the photography.

I also spoke about this set of work at my recent Photography Show talk with NiSi, I have written a blog about that which you can read here.
