IGPOTY Finalist!
Great news! I have been selected a finalist for International Garden Photographer of the Year, under the category Breathing Spaces.
My entry: “Salt Storm”
An epic evening spent chasing the light on Derwent Edge (featuring the rock formation known as ‘Salt Cellar’); the conditions were unbelievable and so fun to witness. I know this place very well, and have returned multiple times to photograph, and finally, it paid off whilst witnessing an incredible storm over the surrounding hills and sporadic showers. Shortly, after some rainfall, the sun dropped beneath, the already low clouds, and saturated the landscape with a golden glow. At moments there was some high wind, which allowed me to shoot free hand since my shutter speed was so fast, that's when I captured this image.
An epic evening chasing the light on Derwent Edge. This image almost makes to be a v2 of my previous Salt Cellar image. Both of which are up there with my favourites. The conditions were unbelievable and so fun to witness. I have to thank my friend Wes, known as peoplofthepeak on social media, for the invite. A great call.
