The Old Man of Coniston in the Lake District is one of many beautiful mountains that we have available to us in the UK. It’s name comes from a combination of Celtic and Norse terminology.
"Old Man” A corruption of the Old Celtic Alt Maen, which translates to "High Stone".
"Coniston": Comes from the Old Norse Konigs Tun, meaning "King's Farm".
