A summer evening in the Peak District, up near Saddleworth Moor, I was photographing the beautiful heather landscape when I could hear some rustling in the bracken below me. There was a little section I could walk down to, off the side of a gritstone edge, and I noticed this plump Partridge tucked away. I’m not sure if he/she was injured, or just very comfortable and relaxed. For context, I took this image at 120mm, which is considerably close to the bird.
