Autumnal Woodland in The Peak District - Photography Workshop
Come with me, into a dense woodland while the trees come to the end of their yearly cycle. As the leaves begin to lose their chlorophyll, they loose their green colour and other pigments start to show. No at all trees cycle at the same time which is why this woodland is just perfect - many different species are at different stages which creates a spectacular burst of colour! An incredible experience to see and hear the roars of our national park’s beasts too, it’s possible that tithe Stags in the area will be rutting so we may have a few visitors. We will explore a woodland near Frogatt Edge, free roadside parking is available which takes us straight in to the wood.. We will be arriving in the dark and begin walking at dusk. The reason for this is because we want the soft light of dawn, hopefully with some fog to create a painterly, atmospheric image.
The footpaths are well lay out, with some uneven terrain.
Throughout the morning we will be looking at a few different techniques, specifically for woodland photography - which can be carried across into other areas. The main idea is getting a strong composition, woodland is often very difficult to capture because they are so chaotic. I will talk through different ways to simplify the scene, how to guide the viewers eye to the focal point, and much more. Other methods will be discussed such as bracketing, focus stacking, and ICM. All different techniques ranging from beginner to advanced.
I tailor my course to you, as best as I can. Assuring that you learn something new and ultimately come out with work to be proud of.
I welcome all questions, photography, location or hiking related. If you wish for some 1:1 guidance and time allows it, then by all means please ask. Not only is this a great opportunity to learn from a professional - but to meet like minded people and make new friends. I often stay in touch with most people from my workshops and share ideas together in a WhatsApp group (I will add you to it if that’s something you’re interested in)
The maximum spaces available will be 4, five people including me. This will allow me to make sure that everyone cant get the help they require and have their questions answered.
Upon booking, I will email you are a short questionnaire about your photography experience, to help me plan the day for you.
