Woodland and Waterfalls in Padley Gorge

£85.00

Padley Gorge is an ancient Oak-Birch Woodland with exceptional displays of gnarled and twisted trees. With Burbage Brook flowing directly through the centre there are so many opportunities to capture some beautiful cascades. There is a chance that we get some low hanging mist depending on the conditions, which makes this place look even more like a fairytale. A local favourite for photographers, no doubt we will bump into some others on the morning. I can direct you to all the best compositions from my experience, and years of exploring this specific area of The Peak District. With a full canopy in summer, it can cause some challenging conditions due to low light, which is where your technical abilities of using a camera will come in to play.

Throughout the morning we will look at using long exposure methods to capture flowing water. Understanding the trade off from boosting your ISO to get a fast shutter speed, is it worth it? Where is the sweet spot? Composing woodland images is a large topic which will be covered. How to remove distracting elements, and simplifying a chaotic scene.

I tailor my course to you, as best as I can. Assuring that you learn something new and ultimately come out with work to be proud of.

I welcome all questions, photography, location or hiking related. If you wish for some 1:1 guidance and time allows it, then by all means please ask. Not only is this a great opportunity to learn from a professional - but to meet like minded people and make new friends. I often stay in touch with most people from my workshops and share ideas together in a WhatsApp group (I will add you to it if that’s something you’re interested in)

The maximum spaces available will be 4, five people including me. This will allow me to make sure that everyone cant get the help they require and have their questions answered.

Upon booking, I will email you are a short questionnaire about your photography experience, to help me plan the day for you.
