Hot Air Balloon Festival at Chatsworth House
Photograph a beautiful display of Hot Air balloons floating along River Derwent at Chatsworth House.
There are a plenty of routes to get here, and a few different car parks. There is a parking area near the garden centre - however it gets very very busy so will be arriving early while it’s dark. This is a good time to get to know each other and discuss what you would like to learn on the day. I must say that the ballon display is weather dependant. Last year I was lucky enough to be in one of the hot air balloons and had a press pass so I know my way around, and the best vantage points for photography.
Throughout the morning we will look at documentary style photography of the balloon set up. Optimal camera settings for capturing moving objects. Long exposures on the river and some woodland/ landscapes. There will be a lot of walking involved as the park is quite big. We will have limited access to the grounds due to the event - unless you have a pass.
I tailor my course to you, as best as I can. Assuring that you learn something new and ultimately come out with work to be proud of.
I welcome all questions, photography, location or hiking related. If you wish for some 1:1 guidance and time allows it, then by all means please ask. Not only is this a great opportunity to learn from a professional - but to meet like minded people and make new friends. I often stay in touch with most people from my workshops and share ideas together in a WhatsApp group (I will add you to it if that’s something you’re interested in)
The maximum spaces available will be 4, five people including me. This will allow me to make sure that everyone cant get the help they require and have their questions answered.
Upon booking, I will email you are a short questionnaire about your photography experience, to help me plan the day for you.
