Chrome Hill Sunrise - Thistles Photography Workshop

£85.00

A morning on the incredible Dragon’s Back, taking a different approach to this locations. Chrome Hill is a limestone reef knoll in the Peak District, in the upper Dove Valley. Adjacent to Parkhouse Hill, another limestone knoll. These two pair perfectly and create an incredible subject for photography. During summer the top of Chrome Hill bursts into with the bloom of Thistles. These spiky plants are actually one of the top producers of Nectar which play a crucial role in our native eco system. Not only that, but the plant is edible after removing the spines, and can be eaten raw straight from the ground.

We will start in the dark, walking from Hollinsclough village and up Chrome Hill. It would be rude not to get the traditional image of the Tree and Parkhouse Hill behind. Then move up towards the top to give us a better view of Nab End and the Staffordshire-East Midlands border. At the top we will have a great view of surrounding hills such as Hollins Hill and High Edge.

I tailor my course to you, as best as I can. Assuring that you learn something new and ultimately come out with work to be proud of.

I welcome all questions, photography, location or hiking related. If you wish for some 1:1 guidance and time allows it, then by all means please ask. Not only is this a great opportunity to learn from a professional - but to meet like minded people and make new friends. I often stay in touch with most people from my workshops and share ideas together in a WhatsApp group (I will add you to it if that’s something you’re interested in)

The maximum spaces available will be 4, five people including me. This will allow me to make sure that everyone cant get the help they require and have their questions answered.

Upon booking, I will email you are a short questionnaire about your photography experience, to help me plan the day for you.
