Dragon's Back - Winter Photography Workshop

£85.00

Explore the incredible Dragon’s Back in The Peak District with me and learn how to photograph like a pro! Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill are two limestone reef knolls in the Upper Dove valley. Potentially the most iconic are in our national park for great reason!

I will guide you away from the classic shots, to capture this location in a new way. Starting on Hitter Hill, after arriving in Earl Sterndale and beginning our walk. Then, depending on conditions, up Parkhouse Hill which is very steep and can be slippery, to scramble back down the other side towards Chrome Hill. This is not just a photography workshops, but a fantastic hike which ticks off 2 Ethels. If the group prefers, we will walk around Parkhouse Hill, then up Chrome Hill which is much more manageable. As us photographers know, golden hour is the best lighting conditions almost all of the time, so we will be starting at dawn, and capturing an epic sunrise.

I will talk through different photography techniques. How to guide the viewers eye to the focal point, how to simplify the scene . Other methods will be discussed such as bracketing, focus stacking, camera settings etc. All different techniques ranging from beginner to advanced.

I tailor my course to you, as best as I can. Assuring that you learn something new and ultimately come out with work to be proud of.

I welcome all questions, photography, location or hiking related. If you wish for some 1:1 guidance and time allows it, then by all means please ask. Not only is this a great opportunity to learn from a professional - but to meet like minded people and make new friends. I often stay in touch with most people from my workshops and share ideas together in a WhatsApp group (I will add you to it if that’s something you’re interested in)

The maximum spaces available will be 4, five people including me. This will allow me to make sure that everyone cant get the help they require and have their questions answered.

Upon booking, I will email you are a short questionnaire about your photography experience, to help me plan the day for you.
